The Remastered Beatles CDs Are A "Must Buy" For All Real Beatles Fans

By Laurence Henry Hanson

If you're like me then you already own every Beatles album on CD. And if that's the case it's likely that you may be thinking to yourself "Why should I buy all of The Beatles albums again just because they're being re-released on CD?"

But you should really note that these new Beatles CDs are not really like the Beatles CDs you own now. They have been remastered for superior sound unlike anything that's been heard before.

The most obvious difference between the CDs you own now and the new remastered CDs can be heard in The Beatles Mono Box Set which includes The Beatles albums in their original mono for the first time on CD.

These mono mixes are the way The Beatles originally intended their music to be heard when they recorded their music in the 1960s.

Why is that? In the 1960s almost everyone listened to their LPs on a mono playback system so stereo was mostly ignored and most of the time and energy of The Beatles and their production team was spent on perfecting the mono mixes of their awesome albums.

In the '60s the mono mixes were definitely considered to be the "real version" of The Beatles albums. And even since the stereo mixes have moved to prominence there have been many who have claimed that the mono mixes sound better.

So I think that pretty much explains why the mono box set is such a "must buy" for all serious Beatles fans, but what about the stereo CDs? Why should Beatles fans buy The Beatles albums on CD again? Quite simply, these new CDs are in newly remastered stereo.

That means that these new stereo CDs sound much better than the CDs first released in 1987. They will allow listeners to hear new details in The Beatles music that have been hidden for many years!
