Have A Blast Party That You Planned

By Rene Lacape

Ever organized a costume party and landed up seeking professional help? Organizing a party can be a real problem; right from choosing the theme, sending the invites, decoration etc especially when you are doing everything on your own. Hence, it becomes important to plan this entire thing in advance and taking help from your friend is just the beginning. After all, they will be the one enjoying the party to the most.

Once you have decided to hold a costume party, first and foremost, settle on its theme (if there is one). The theme of the party should be exciting and fun and most of all, the women's and men's costumes for the said theme shouldn't be too hard to find or create. If the theme requires that the guests come in rare costumes, then they might end up wearing casual clothes and it might spoil the ambience of the party. Check if the decorations of the theme can fit into your location. Also, make sure that your budget can handle all the expenses for the event.

Sit with your friends and family for a brainstorming session. This will make you know what other people think and will help you form your own opinion. Note down all these points. These will help you in the progression of the preparation and some points will also help you in case you want to make some last minute changes!

The age group plays an important part in organizing a party. For example, the costumes for children's costume parties will be more colorful, fun filled eye catching etc. Even the menu will also have to be exciting if the party is to be attended by kids in majority. If adults are going to attend the party, then the scenario is different. As compared to children's costumes, the adult costumes are easily available. Open bars and cocktail drinks are seen in a adult party rather than candies and chocolates for a children's party.

When you have a chosen a date for the party, when to send the invitations should be also be thought of carefully. Never send an invitation too early or too near the said date. A month before the party should provide ample time for the guests to prepare for the children's costumes, adult costumes, or whatever the theme of the party is. Highlight on the invitation the theme for the party, and that it should be strictly abided to, or else suffer a secret consequence, which can add both excitement and curiosity for those who will be coming in complete costumes and those who won't.

No costume party is complete without prizes. Certain contests can be organized by the host so as to create some amusement, fascination and excitement. The contests can vary and are a personal choice. You can still go for the traditional "best costume" award for the best costume and the rest is left to your imagination. Prize distribution is something that fascinates everyone as everyone wants to win.

As already mention, fun should be paid the topmost attention. After all you want everyone to enjoy. But will it sound nice or will it be a good site to see people sitting in such beautiful costumes just sitting and chatting? Obviously not, you should arrange for proper background music so that they can enjoy even more. An emcee with good people skill will do the task in this case.

At the end of the day, although it's important for the guests to enjoy themselves, it also very important for you and those in charge to have fun! The success of the event is also your success, and don't forget to celebrate it with them and congratulate all for a job well done.
