Can anything good be said about the St. Louis Rams? Any football fan would be hard pressed to find something positive about the miserable situation of the St. Louis Rams.
An entire overhaul of the team will need to take place - besides running back Stephen Jackson - if the Rams ever expect to be playoff contenders again. This is a big process and will take time.
The St. Louis fans are good fans that will support a team - they don't deserve the product that is being produced on the field. I can only imagine what it would be like, but thankfully I'm not a Rams fan.
QB Marc Bulger and Kyle Boller are nearly identical when it comes to their stats -- which means it doesn't really matter which is in the game because the chance of the Rams winning doesn't improve.
Defense is not known to be their strong point, and without an effective offensive present, it'll be extremely difficult for this team to win many games. They can't stop the run nor can they stop the pass. I expect some really big scores against them this year.
The only player the Rams have worth the price of a ticket is RB Steven Jackson. Jackson is averaging nearly 5 yards per rushing attempt in 09'. Jackson's best season up to this date was in 06' when he rushed for over 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The NFL has had fast turn arounds before - many feel this isn't possible with the Rams. The Dolphins in 07' went 1-15, 08' the Dolphins went 11-5. Whether that was a fluke or not the turn around was accomplished.
If I was Steven Jackson, I would do whatever it takes to get out of St. Louis. It's going to be a long time before this team has potential.
